European bilberry also known as black fruit bilberry, rhododendron family of bilberry. Its extract is the product of fruit or juice extracted and separated. The European bilberry is called bilberry in the UK. It has been used as a food plant since ancient times and as a medicinal plant in Europe in the 16th century. More than 15 different anthocyanins have been found in bilberry. Anthocyanins help maintain capillary integrity and stabilize collagen, and are also powerful antioxidants.
